Setting Up Shipping Methods and Rates in MyOrderDesk Follow
The Shipping Methods Table lists all the Shipping Methods you have created in your site. You can create both Integrated (ie: UPS, FedEx, etc.) and Non-Integrated Methods (Store Pickup, Delivery our Truck, etc.). To create a non-integrated method, simply select New from the top of the table. Before creating an integrated method, you first need to set up your account details for the method you want to add under the 3rd Party Rates tab.
Creating a Non-Integrated Custom Shipping Method
Select the New Button at the top of the Shipping Methods table, and then select Custom and Create.
Complete the setup for the new Custom Rate
Rate Settings
- Shipping Method Name (Required) - This is the descriptive Name that will be seen by the customer during the checkout process. They are listed from lowest to highest (ascending) amount calculated.
- Method (required field):
- Number of Items - Use when shipping is determined by the number of items being ordered.
- Rates - Select Edit to enter the From and To quantity with the corresponding charge. Example: 1 to 10 items you charge $10.00 for shipping. You can enter in as many quantity ranges as you would like.
- Order Subtotal - Use when shipping is determined by the Subtotal of the Order.
- Rates - Select Edit to enter the From and To order amounts with the corresponding charge. Example: Orders from $.01 to $10.00 are $5.00. You can enter in as many quantity ranges as you would like.
- Order Weight - Use when shipping is determined by the Weight of the item(s) being ordered.
- Rates - Select Edit to enter the From and To weight amounts with the corresponding charge. Example: Items weighing 1.00 lb to 5 lbs are $15.00. You can enter in as many ranges are you would like.
- Per Item - Use when you want to total all the individual items that are ordered using the Shipping Total mapping in the Order Form setup (Tools > Order Forms > Select Form > Settings > Cart > Form to Cart Field Map > Shipping Total).
- Unpriced - Use when there is no price to ship.
- Display As - What text you enter here is what your customer will see during checkout. See screenshots below:
- Number of Items - Use when shipping is determined by the number of items being ordered.

Additional Charges
- Handling Charge - Enter a handling fee you would like to have added to the shipping cost. You can set an amount, a percentage, or a combination of the two.
- Minimum Charge - If you would like to charge a minimum shipping fee, enter it here. If the cost being returned is less than this amount, the minimum fee will be used.
Checkout Availability
- Available at checkout - When you are ready for this Shipping Method to be available to your customers, select this option. You can use this to disable the method without deleting it when you would like it to no longer display in the shopping cart as an option.
- Available to P.O. Box Addresses - If the Shipping Address being used is a PO Box, MyOrderDesk will recognize that and only allow the address to be chosen if this option is enabled.
- Require Ship To info during checkout - Enable this option if you will require the customer to indicate their Ship To Address.
Creating an Integrated Shipping Method
Before you setup your Shipping Method for one of our 3rd party Integrations, complete the information in the third section: 3rd Party Rates for the provider you are wanting to offer in your storefront. You will not be able to create the integrated method until you complete the provider configuration details.
We currently support the following Integrations:
- FedEx
- UPS
- United States Postal Service (USPS)
- Purolator
- Canadian Post
Rate Settings
- Shipping Method Name (Required) - This is the descriptive Name that will be seen by the customer during the checkout process. They are listed from lowest to highest (ascending) amount calculated.
The other prompts in the Rate Settings area will all be slightly different depending on the carrier you are setting up, and specific to their offerings. For the 3rd party providers, you may find Services that allow you to set up Box Packing and Shipping Containers. If you would like to learn more about that topic, view this Knowledge Base Article. Note: You can also set up the Shipping Containers under the 3rd Party Rates tab when you configure the particular integration.
Service Data
- Rate Returned
- Carrier Calculated- Select if you would like to use the integration to do a look up of the shipping rate.
- Static Override Amount - Enter an amount you would like to use for the carrier. This will override the integration lookup.
Additional Charges

Part 2. Shipping Settings
Shipping Rate List
- Add "Select One" as the first shipping method - Select if you would like the shipping dropdown list to always show Select One, even when there is only one shipping option available. This is suggested so that your customer does not miss seeing how the item will be shipped.
Shipping Rate Sort
- Sort rates by Amount, Name or Type in Ascending or Descending order.
- Then by Amount, Name or Type in Ascending or Descending order.
Shipping Notes - If you would like to display a note to your customers about your shipping policies you can enter that information here. It will display on the checkout page right below the dropdown list of shipping options available. If you know HTML, that is accepted in this text area.
Mailing Label QR Code Category - You can print out a Mailing Label from the Job Ticket (Order History > Job Details > Print Icon > Mailing Label as seen in screenshot below), which will include a scannable QR code. If you would like to have the Job Category changed when your staff scans the barcode, select what Category you would like it changed to. The dropdown presented will list all available Categories. This can be helpful when you are delivering a shipment and want to scan the mailing label when the package has been delivered.
Ship Date Estimation (3rd party) - If you are using a 3rd party integrated shipping method, you can set specific details on when you can ship out your packages. This will allow the carrier to return an estimated ship date. You can set the following:
- Production Business Days- Choose the days your shop is open for job production.
- Production Holidays- Enter a list of holidays (in MM/DD/YYYY format) which your shop is closed. This list will need to be updated as time progresses.
- Additional production time- Enter a global lead time before items are ready to ship. Note: Setting this to anything other than None will prevent same day shipping.
- Cutoff time for same day shipping- Orders received after this time (local to you) are marked as submitted on the following day.
Part 3. 3rd Party Rates
Select the carrier Icon that you would like to set up an integration with and then complete the various prompts. You will need to first set up an account with the carrier and then obtain the information from them to complete this information.
You can also Edit Shipping Containers - If you would like to learn more about that topic, view this Knowledge Base Article. Note: You can also set up the Shipping Containers when creating your various Integrated Shipping Methods in the first tab.
Lastly, If you have rates available at checkout but no shipping amounts can be obtained from the rate provider, we will display a default message at checkout. You can customize this message if you would like.
When you are done setting up your various shipping methods, don't forget to turn them ON in Tools > Users & Groups.
