Printer's Plan SQL Version 1.6.21 Release Notes (10/30/2026) Follow
New Printer's Plan API Endpoints
Services and Shipping API Endpoints
Feature Goal
You can now get your Services list and create, view, update and delete shipment records through the Printer’s Plan API. This lets connected tools manage shipping charges on your jobs without anyone entering them by hand.
Background
Previously, the Printer’s Plan API had no way to get the Services list or to manage shipments. Shipping details and charges from outside systems had to be typed into each job by hand.
Solution
Services list
A new Services endpoint (/api/v1/Services) returns your Services list. Each entry includes the service number, both service names and the service category.
Shipping
New Shipped Items endpoints (/api/v1/shippeditems) let you:
- Create a shipment on a job. The shipping price is added to the job’s shipping charge.
- Get shipment details.
- Update a shipment’s charges or details.
- Delete a shipment. Its shipping price is removed from the job’s shipping charge, and the job’s shipping charge never goes below zero.
When you create a shipment, the Ship To you enter must belong to the job’s customer. Ship Tos from other customers and Ship Tos that don’t exist are rejected.
Keeping API prices as entered
A new option, Keep cost and price as entered (don’t apply carrier markup), is in the Shipment window, directly below Add Shipping Price to Job.
- Shipments created through the API have this option checked automatically. When you open one, the Cost and Price show exactly what was sent, and Markup (%) is worked out from those two amounts.
- Opening and saving one of these shipments without making changes doesn’t change the job’s shipping, tax or balance.
- Changing the Carrier or Shipping API on the shipment unchecks the option and recalculates the price from your shipping configuration.
- If you uncheck the option yourself, the carrier markup is applied to the current cost.
- Shipments you create in Printer’s Plan have the option unchecked and are priced the same way as before.
Improvements and Fixes:
- The Tax Table limit has been increased from 1,000 to 2,000 records, so shops with larger tax tables can now add the additional records they need.
- Changes to the Product Types table were not sending a Product Type event through Print Relay. This has been resolved, and Product Type changes and service changes now each trigger the correct event.
- In the Item Direct Costs window, the % of Price column showed wrong or negative percentages when an item’s price or any of its costs was over $21,474.83. This has been resolved and all % of Price values, including Margin, now calculate and round correctly.
- In rare cases, if posting was interrupted, Printer’s Plan could finish only part of the posting. The jobs moved to Job History, but they got a Posting No of 0, the posting journal was missing its totals, and the jobs didn’t appear on accounting reports. This has been resolved, and Printer’s Plan now stops the posting before any jobs are changed if the posting can’t be completed.
- In the uncommon case where a customer paid for a job online while an employee had that job open for editing in Printer’s Plan, saving the job overwrote the job’s Paid and Balance amounts with the values from before the payment. The payment still appeared in the job’s payment history. This has been resolved and online payments are now kept when the job is saved, so the job’s balance stays correct.
