How To Use The PriceWiz Calculator Follow
Overview
PriceWiz is an on‑screen calculator. Available from any Service Configuration window, you combine a few services and test pricing at multiple quantity breaks without building a full quote. Use it to spot‑check mark‑ups, plate costs, and difficulty factors while you fine‑tune service defaults.
Info: PriceWiz is read‑only; it never changes service defaults or customer data. Think of it as a scratch pad for pricing ideas.
How It Works
The PriceWiz pop‑up has three panels:
- Step 1 – Set Specs – choose quantity breaks, sides, markup level, coverage, registration, washes, mixes, and bleeds.
- Step 2 – Select Services – pick a paper, press, plate, and one “other” service to build a simple test item.
- Step 3 – Compare Prices – view calculated price vs. a manual target; PriceWiz shows the dollar and percentage difference.
Step‑by‑Step Guide
1. Setup Print Specifications
- QBreak – number of quantity breaks (5, 10, etc.).
- Side 1 / Side 2 – printing properties for each side.
- Markup – choose price level (Bid, Rush, Special).
- Coverage & Registration – pull difficulty factors from the press’s table.
- Wash, Mix, Bleed – optional adjustments that can affect price.
2. Select Services
- Pick one Paper, one Press, one Plate, and optionally one other service.
- This lightweight combo is enough to preview item‑level pricing.
3. Compare Prices
- PriceWiz lists each quantity break with the calculated price.
- Enter a Target price to see the variance (% and $).
Key Points
- PriceWiz is ideal for quick price checks while configuring services.
- It never changes service defaults or saves customer data.
- Use Target to benchmark calculations against desired pricing.
