Tabs Spacing in ezMerge MKB 0081 Follow
Creating tab spacing with ezMerge is easy!
On the Textflow Designer tab of any Textflow block you can insert a \t to create a tab
All of the tab settings are found on the Formatting tab of any Textflow block.
There are 3 options for tab spacing:
1. Relative
2. Typewriter
3. Ruler
Relative
Of the 3 options, Relative tabs are the least common. When using Relative tabs, ezMerge will space out the value specified in the "Tab Size" box. In this case, 7 spaces. Notice that the Phone and Fax number do not line up.
Typewriter
Typewriter tabs are the most common and closely resemble tab spacing that we see in popular programs such as Microsoft Word. ezMerge will jump to the next increment of the size you specified in the Tab Size box.
On the Textflow Designer block, we need to add another tab because the word "Fax:" is Shorter than "Phone:"
Ruler
Ruler tabs will advance to the next specified Tab value in the Ruler box. These are great if you are trying to create columns.
Note: The "Align Char" box is not used at this point and is an advanced feature that will be covered in a later document. Ignore it for now.
In this example there are 2 columns of phone numbers that must be tabbed out correctly.
