Estimate Reports
There are 19 reports in the Estimate Reports folder and are only available while you are within an estimate using the red "Reports" button in Midnight. The Estimate reports in Midnight provide both internal and customer-facing formats for reviewing and presenting estimate information. The Estimate: Buyer Info and Estimate: Cost Report are designed primarily for internal use, while the remaining reports are customer-facing estimate formats that vary in the level of detail, pricing visibility, and presentation style.
Report Type Definitions:
- SQ (Single Quantity) – Estimates containing a single quantity option.
- MQ (Multiple Quantity) – Estimates containing multiple quantity options.
- MP (Multiple Pages) – Estimates spanning multiple pages due to the amount of detail included.
Understanding Report Labels:
- Reports labeled (SQ) can be used for single-quantity estimates.
- Reports labeled (SQ, MQ) can be used for both single-quantity and multi-quantity estimates.
- Reports labeled (MQ, MP) are intended for multi-quantity estimates and present each quantity option on its own page for improved readability and comparison.
- Reports ending in #1 utilize the legacy estimate formatting. Reports ending in #2 provide an updated alternate design layout while presenting the same estimate information.
- Reports ending in #3 and #4 provide additional layout options for multi-quantity and multipage estimates, allowing you to choose the presentation style that best fits your organization's needs.
- It is recommended that organizations select one or two preferred estimate layouts and deactivate the remaining report variations to simplify report selection and reduce user confusion. These reports help managers identify inefficiencies, improve estimating accuracy, monitor machine utilization, and better understand the true cost of producing work.
The Profitability Reports provide visibility into sales, margins, customer profitability, and sales performance, helping management evaluate business performance and make informed operational and sales decisions.
Job Costing Reports

Work Order reports are internal production documents designed to communicate specifications, instructions, and job details to production staff and the shop floor.
Report Layout Definitions

The Purchasing Reports folder contains 10 reports used to manage vendor relationships, monitor purchasing activity, track open purchase orders, and support inventory procurement. These reports help purchasing agents, inventory managers, and production teams ensure materials are ordered on time, monitor outstanding commitments, and analyze purchasing activity across vendors, inventory items, and customer orders.
Purchase Order and RFQ Reports
- Purchase Order #1 and Purchase Order #2 are vendor-facing reports generated directly from within the Purchasing module and are not available from the standard Reports menu.
- Purchasing: RFQ #1 and Purchasing: RFQ #2 are vendor-facing Request for Quote (RFQ) reports that are also generated directly from within the Purchasing module and are not available from the standard Reports menu.
- Reports ending in #1 utilize the legacy report format.
- Reports ending in #2 provide an alternate design layout while presenting similar information.
- It is recommended that organizations choose either the #1 or #2 document layouts based on their preferences and deactivate the alternate versions to reduce user confusion. For consistency across purchasing documents, organizations using Purchase Order #1 should also use Purchasing: RFQ #1, while organizations using Purchase Order #2 should also use Purchasing: RFQ #2, ensuring all purchasing documents share the same design, formatting, and overall appearance.
