Midnight 10.8.0 (8/23/2025) Release Notes Follow
Introducing Print Reach Drive – Now Available on Purchase Order Pages!
We’re excited to announce the first step in rolling out Print Reach Drive, our new digital asset management (DAM) solution within Midnight. With this release, you’ll see a new Drive button on the Purchase Order screen. From here, you can launch the Drive modal to upload and manage files related to a specific Purchase Order. The button also shows a red alert indicator when files are attached, so it’s easy to know when documents or assets are already associated.
We chose Purchase Orders as the first area to introduce Drive because it previously did not support file attachments, giving you a brand-new way to manage documents right away. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be expanding Drive across other areas of Midnight, migrating existing attachments into Drive, and enabling file uploads from virtually any page. This means you’ll soon have one consistent, powerful way to store, access, and track files across your entire system.
Important Note
Our new Drive feature, along with the recently released Batch Reporting, requires the Print Reach Drive module. To use it, your account must first be migrated to our new email system. If you haven’t been migrated yet, you’ll receive an email from us soon—so please ensure your employee records are up to date.
Once migrated, you can start exploring Drive on your Purchase Orders today and get a preview of what’s coming system-wide.
Accounting Export Grid — New "Account" Column
We’ve added a new “Account” column to the Accounting Export grid, positioned directly after the “Customer/Vendor” column. This enhancement was requested to match functionality in the legacy Accounting Export, allowing users to filter by postage payment account when preparing exports. With this change, users can filter the grid by “Account” and export only the rows that match their selected criteria.
The “Account” data is also included in both CSV and PDF downloads, and the export files now reflect the current state of the grid, including applied filters and selected rows. This update ensures customers who relied on the old export can now fully transition to the new tool without losing critical filtering capability.
SOAP API — Urgency Field Support
The Urgency field is now fully supported in the SOAP API, aligning it with the functionality already available in the REST API. This enhancement allows users to insert, update, and retrieve the Urgency value when working with orders through SOAP.
Additionally, the OrderQuickAdd and OrderNew methods now correctly copy the Urgency field, ensuring consistent behavior across order creation workflows. This update was requested to support customer needs and improves parity between the REST and SOAP APIs while maintaining backward compatibility for existing integrations.
Order Postage — Addition of User Defined Fields (UDFs)
We’ve enhanced the Order Postage functionality by introducing support for User Defined Fields (UDFs). You can now configure up to 15 UDFs specifically for Order Postage in Settings > User Defined Fields, with the new option listed alphabetically alongside other modules. When defined, these UDFs appear at the bottom of the Postage Reconciliation window (accessible via the magnifying glass on the Postage Affix grid). If no fields are defined, the section remains hidden.
UDFs are also supported in the Pitney Bowes and Neopost Order Postage import options (Order > Quick Links > Order Postage Import), allowing imported CSV data to populate the configured fields. This enhancement was driven by customers who require additional postage-related data for reconciliation and imports. The update ensures Midnight can capture and display this critical data, similar to the UDFs previously added elsewhere.
Inventory Deductions on Orders
We fixed an issue where inventory pulled or subtracted from Item Requests (Delivery/Destroy) was not updating correctly on orders. Pulled and reserved quantities now display accurately, and the correct order number is shown on both the order and item records. This also applies when using the Add Delivery Ticket feature, ensuring consistent and reliable inventory tracking across all workflows.
Payments by Date Report – Performance Improvements and “Show All Customers” Option Restored
We identified a performance issue in the Payments by Date report where the “Show All Customers” option caused excessive executions and contributed to database slowdowns. As a temporary workaround, the option was removed, requiring users to run the report separately for each customer.
This release introduces a redesigned version of the report that eliminates the looping problem, allowing us to safely reinstate the “Show All Customers” option. Users can once again run the report across all customers without performance concerns.
These improvements have also been applied to related reports — AR: Exports by Date Range and AR: Days Sales Outstanding — ensuring the “Show All Customers” option is available and runs efficiently across all three reports.
