6.1 Release Notes
ENHANCEMENTS:
Orders / Estimates:
New Feature: Inactive Services are highlighted on the Estimate and Order forms. When a service is marked as inactive, the ServiceID would appear in the place of the service name on an Estimate and Order. Instead of displaying the ServiceID, we are now highlighting the inactive service name. This will be visual reference that the service is now inactive so the user can change it to a different service or remove it altogether.
Orders / Estimates:
New Feature: Add Contact. A new Quick Link has been added to the Estimate and Order forms that allows a user to add a new contact.
This keeps the user in the record that they started without having to close out and access the customer record to add the contact.
Within an Order or Estimate, click the Add Contact in the QuickLinks.
The Contact form will open in a new window so you can add the new Contact.
Global Settings:
QuickBooks Purchase Order and Postage Check Export Option. We have added the option to dynamically change the transaction type in the QuickBooks export file.
This new option allows you to import a Purchase Order as a Bill or Purchase Order and a Postage Check as a General Journal entry or Deposit, depending on your specific needs.
The default transaction type for Purchase Orders is set to BILL.
The default transaction type for Postage Checks is GENERAL JOURNAL.
Report Objects:
New Feature: Attach File As. We have added a new field in the Report Objects list where you can define the filename that gets attached to the email when emailing a report from Midnight. We have defaulted the current report names in the Report Name field to the Attach File As field.
To change the filename, simple edit the line item and type in the new filename as you would like it to appear.
After previewing the report and clicking Email, your new filename will be displayed in the Attachments field.
Standard Services:
Wizard Cost Enhancement: The wizard cost enhancement allows you to now track the cost of a wizard selection in addition to the sell price or unit price.
Search Forms:
New Feature: Reset Filter link added to all search forms.
A Reset Filters link has been added to the top of each Search Form. When a user clicks the column headings to sort the search form, there was not a way to bring back the default sort.
Clicking the Reset Filters link will now refresh the search form back to the default sorting.
CreateRole Right:
New Feature: Report Security on Role Levels.
This request has come into support numerous times; how can I lock certain users from accessing specific report.
When you now go into Security -> CreateRole Right and select a Security Role, you will notice Reports now has a hyperlink.
When you click the hyperlink, the Role Reports Security form will load. By default, all reports in Midnight will appear on the Available Reports side of the form.
To lock out reports for a specific security role, simply click the checkbox next to each report name and click Add >. This will move that report to the Lock out Reports side of the form. Once you have made your changes, click Save & Close.
If an employee under the security role tries to access a Locked out Report, they will receive the following message:
We have added a new Sales Report by Rep (Filter) that dynamically displays the sales data for the user that is currently logged in.
They will not be able to view any other Sales Rep data from this report.
PageDNA:
New Feature: Utilize PageDNA Import Process in Midnight. This new feature is available for our Midnight users that have a PageDNA integration.
Once this option is enabled, PageDNA orders will import into the form below instead of automatically creating orders in Midnight.
This gives the user full control on which orders they want to push into Midnight.
FIXES:
- • Updated the Stimulsoft dll to a new version
- • Addressed issue with multiple line items on an Order and slowing down Midnight.
- • Addressed issue with the PO tabbing order after selecting an Order # on a Purchase Order.
- • Cost Per M Sheets no longer required in Inventory to print paper. This allows you to better handle customer owned stock.
- • Make Ready Formula updated to better handle multi signature jobs.
