Printer’s Plan: Elements of the Job Window – Q&A Summary
Q: Does working in the cloud make Printer’s Plan slower when attaching documents?
A: Not necessarily. Performance is often related to where your data source folders are located. In a cloud environment, you can change those folders within Printer’s Plan. If performance is a concern, switching the data source to a locally hosted folder is recommended and is usually the quickest way to improve speed.
Q: Can I open a previous job quote from the Compare window without closing my current job?
A: No. Once you are inside an active work order window, another full job cannot be opened at the same time. The Compare tool is designed to let you review job details side by side without closing your current quote.
Q: Does the Compare tool change any job data?
A: No. The Compare tool is strictly visual. It allows you to review differences between jobs or quotes without modifying or affecting any job data.
Q: Do templates and quick sale jobs automatically update pricing?
A: Yes. Templates and quick sale jobs always pull current pricing. If costs such as paper prices are updated, you do not need to manually edit existing templates. When a template is used, the quote reflects the latest pricing rather than what was originally saved.
Q: Can different users save different column layouts in the Jobs window?
A: Yes. Column layouts are user specific. Each user can customize their own job columns, and those changes only apply to their login. Other users will not be affected.
Q: Can I add Quantity as a column in the Jobs list?
A: Not currently. This has been submitted as a feature request based on user feedback. While it is not available as a standard column today, it has been shared with the product team for review and potential future development.
Q: Can labels be printed from a remote or cloud environment?
A: Yes. Best practice is to store label data and shipping templates in a locally hosted folder, even when working in the cloud. This allows labels to be printed directly from your computer and helps prevent printing and performance issues.
Q: Is there a quick way to navigate out of multiple open windows?
A: Yes. The Escape (Esc) key can be used to quickly back out of multiple windows. If you are several levels deep, pressing Esc will step you back out without needing to close each screen manually.
