Recording Macros For Labels
What is a “Macro”?
A macro is defined as a single instruction that expands automatically into a set of instructions to perform a particular task.
In this case, the macro is filling in the fields on the template with customer shipping information.
Recording the macro for labels.
Follow the instructions in Editing Shipping Labels to view the template within Printer’s Plan. (You should stop at the view of the Word document template. Closeout and do not save the populated document if that opened.
When viewing the template, you can press “Preview Results” to test.
In order to re-record the macro on the document select View > Macros > Record Macro
Once recording you should force a merge by selecting from the top menu Mailings > Finish & Merge > Edit Individual Documents.
When the merge is complete the document will open in a new window containing the merged information.
Do not close out of this document. Instead, minimize it by selecting the bar in the top right corner to view the template once again. (The macro is still recording our clicks. )
In the View > Macros; select Stop Recording. Save all changes to this template and close the template.
You are now ready to test the functionality of this document’s macros by creating labels as you typically would.
