Warehouse Item Requests Follow
The Item Request module, located next to the Inventory module, provides a centralized way to create and track requests involving inventory items. Requests can be used for pickups, deliveries, item transfers, and item destruction, while allowing one user to create the request and another user to fulfill it.
The module also provides a searchable history of requests, making it easy to locate, reprint, or copy existing records.
Request Types
The Item Request module supports four request types:
- Pickup Requests - Requests to pick up inventory items from a customer or vendor.
- Delivery Requests - Requests to deliver inventory items to a customer.
- Move Requests - Requests to move inventory items from one location to another.
- Destroy Requests - Requests to remove inventory items from inventory through destruction.
Request Search
Like other Midnight modules, Item Requests open to a search screen. Use this screen to:
- Find existing requests.
- Filter and find item request types.
Request Information
Pickup, Delivery, Move, and Destroy requests contain many of the same fields. Pickup and Delivery requests include a Pickup From field, while Move and Destroy requests use a Customer field.
Fields
- Pickup From - Specifies where items will be picked up from or delivered to. Available on Pickup and Delivery requests.
- Customer - Specifies the customer associated with a Move or Destroy request.
- Requested By - The employee who created the request.
- Create Date - The date and time the request was created.
- Date Needed / Time Needed - The requested completion date and time.
- Date Done - The date the request was completed.
- Completed By - The employee who completed the request.

Adding Items
The lower section of the request screen is used to enter the inventory items involved in the request.
After an item entry is saved, the item entry fields clear automatically so additional items can be added.
Address Information
The Address tab contains the location information associated with the request.
By default, the address information is pulled from the selected customer's shipping address but can be modified for the individual request as needed.
Saving Requests
After entering the request information, use one of the following options:
- Save - Saves the request and allows you to continue working on it.
- Copy - Creates a duplicate request and opens the copied record for editing.
- Delete - Deletes the request.
- Cancel - Cancels the request.
- Save & Close - Saves the request, adds it to the Item Request list, and closes the record.
Tracking Request Status
As requests move through the fulfillment process, users can update completion information, approvals, and status details. This allows request activity to be tracked from creation through completion, providing visibility into inventory movement and delivery activity.
Reports
Depending on the type of Item Request, the following reports are available exclusively within the Warehouse Module / Item Request area:
- Item Request: Destroy Report – Generates documentation for inventory items approved for destruction, providing a record of items being removed from inventory.
- Item Request: Move Report – Documents inventory items being transferred from one warehouse location to another, helping ensure accurate tracking of inventory movements.
- Item Request: Packing Slip – Generates a packing slip for inventory items included in an item request, providing a summary of the products being prepared for shipment, transfer, or pickup.
- Warehouse: Packing Slip (Broker) – Generates a packing slip designed for brokered shipments, providing item and shipment details for third-party fulfillment or transportation arrangements.
- Warehouse: Pickup / Delivery Ticket – Generates a ticket used to document inventory pickups and deliveries, including relevant item, customer, and transportation information needed for warehouse and delivery operations.
Delivery: Daily Tracker Report
The Delivery: Daily Tracker Report provides a centralized view of pickup and delivery activity for a selected date range. It is designed to help warehouse, inventory, and logistics teams monitor request status and ensure scheduled deliveries and pickups are completed on time.
