Hide a Service Type from the Shop Floor application Follow

This article covers how to block all services within a Service Type from appearing on Shop Floor.

If you have a Service Type in Midnight set up solely for invoicing purposes, you may wish to block those services from appearing on your Shop Floor application as the team will not track their time against those tasks.  Midnight allows you to control which services can be used for time tracking and job costing at the service level, but if you have an entire department set for those tasks, you have an efficient way from keeping those line items off the Shop Floor app which can lessen confusion for the production team and keep those items from cluttering up their options.

You may ensure that no items from a given Item Type appear within Shop Floor by flagging that in Admin.  To make the change, click on the gear in the top-right hand corner of Midnight.  When Admin opens, scroll down to Service Types in your Admin Lists.  On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see each of the Service Types you have set up.  If there is a Service Type you wish to turn off from appearing within Shop Floor, click the pencil to the right of the line you wish to update. 

For the column entitled “Kiosk Hide”, click that box to flag the Service Type so that the tasks in that department will not show within Shop Floor, even if they are present on an order.  After making the change, click the Update icon to save your changes.
