Setting Up a Secondary Company in Midnight Follow
If your organization operates under a DBA (Doing Business As) name, maintains multiple locations, or needs to display different company information on customer-facing documents, Midnight allows you to set up multiple company records within the same database.
Secondary companies can have their own:
- Company name
- Address information
- Phone and contact details
- Logo
- Tax settings
- Document branding
Although all companies share the same Midnight database and data structure, individual company records can be associated with:
- Customers
- Estimates
- Orders
- Purchase Orders
- Vendors
This provides the flexibility to generate company-specific reports and documents while maintaining all operational data in a single Midnight environment.
To create a new company record or update an existing one:
- Click the Admin gear icon in the upper-right corner of Midnight.
- Select Global Settings from the Admin menu.
- Navigate to the Company Setup section.
- Create a new company record by selecting "Add Company."
- Enter the appropriate company information, including company name, address, contact details, logo, and any other required settings.
- Save your changes.
Once configured, the company can be selected throughout Midnight and used on reports, estimates, invoices, purchase orders, and other documents where company-specific branding and information are required.
Once a secondary company has been set up, it can be associated with various records throughout Midnight, including:
- Customers
- Vendors
- Purchase Orders
- Estimates
- Orders
When a company is selected on one of these records, the company's information and branding will be used on reports generated from that record. This includes the company name, address, phone, and logo.
