How to Change your Press Run Rate Factor Follow
Run Rate Factors are used to adjust the production speed of presses for estimating and scheduling purposes. Before modifying a press run rate, review the existing run rate factors to determine whether an appropriate option already exists.
To access the Run Rate Factor setup screen:
- Click the Admin gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Expand the Print menu.
- Select Run Rate Factor.
The Run Rate Factor screen displays all run rate factors currently configured in the system.
Run Rate Factor Fields
- Press Name: The name or description of the run rate factor.
- Factor: The percentage used to adjust the press run rate. For example, a factor of 80% would reduce the press's standard run rate to 80% of its normal speed.
- Default: Indicates whether this run rate factor will be used as the default option for presses.
- Active: Determines whether the run rate factor is available for selection within the system.
Adding a New Run Rate Factor
To create a new run rate factor, enter the required information into the blank gray row at the bottom of the screen and click Save. The new run rate factor will then be available for use on applicable presses.
Editing an Existing Run Rate Factor
To modify an existing run rate factor, click the Edit icon located to the right of the record. Update the desired values and save your changes.
Best Practice: Create run rate factors that reflect real-world production conditions, such as reduced speeds for complex jobs, specialty stocks, or operator experience levels. Consistent use of run rate factors helps improve estimating accuracy and production scheduling performance.
