Setting up columns which columns your clients see in the customer portal
When using the client portal, you have control of which columns display for each of your customers. There may be certain data that you wish for a customer to see and for another customer, that data may not be relevant. As such, Midnight allows you to select which columns you wish to display in the modules of the customer portal. (The Midnight Customer Portal is a module that allows your customers to log in to a secure site and view data such as their proofs, inventory and postage balances; the site is updated based upon your Midnight data.)
The columns for the customer portal are set up at the client level. After selecting a customer from the CRM search screen, the CRM record will open.
Within the CRM screen, there is a tab for Portal. Select the tab and then click the option for VSPortal Settings.
The VSPortal Settings has tabs where you can control the display columns for each of the pages within the portal. The Customer Service tab allows you to update the pages for Open and Closed Orders, Order Status, Open and closed Estimates, Events and Request a Quote. You may use the Inventory page on the Inventory tab and the Proof page on the Proof tab. For each page you wish to update for the client, you will select that option from the menu by clicking on it. The Available Columns section shows each of the columns that are not current visible to the client. The Selected Columns section includes the columns that are visible to the client. To add a column you want the client to see on that page, select it from the list under Available Columns and then click the Add option in the middle. That will activate the column.
If there are any columns you wish to no longer display, select it from the Selected Columns section on the right and then click Remove. Once you are done making updates, click Submit. The next time your client logs into the portal they will see the columns you have chosen for that page.
You may choose different columns to display for each client. All log in users for that client who have access to a given page will see the same columns.
